Artist Bio

Angela Delmez began her painting journey in 2009; however, she has been creating since she was a child. Drawing, writing, and playing the cello were some of the various ways she would find a way to express herself and cope with life at a young age, into her teens, and as a young adult.
Painting began as a hobby in 2009 but turned into a passion that would drive her to experiment with many styles and mediums. Presently, her medium of choice is oils; however, she still paints with acrylics depending on the subject or style. She is inspired by the masters of Impressionism, road trips, the simple things in life, nature, music, and scriptures. "Excitement, emotion, exploration, and escape are what I anticipate every time I paint. I consider myself to be predominantly an expressive/intuitive oil painter who wants and allows the canvas to reveal emotions from the moment, movement, character, and unexptected marks and colors. I thrive on the kind of texture that entices people to want to move in a little closer and examine the unique flow that you will find in most of my works." She believes, "Art isn’t a place for rules; rather, painting is a place of freedom and momentary escape where the possibilities are endless."
Wife and mother to five children, Angela has a deep devotion to her family and faith. She is a lifelong resident of SW Missouri.
Her art has been exhibited locally at The Creamery and Fresh Gallery. In 2018, she painted a tribute piece to remember the lives lost in the tragic Duck Boat accident; the painting is displayed in Branson City Hall. She is currently a member of Formed Gallery in downtown Springfield, MO.
